This weeks progress has been going much better than expected. My group Has been working a lot harder at our song and had a great amount of success so far. We managed fit together our nearly finished lyrics together with our melody and tempo. With the help from our teacher Mr. Hansen, we've managed to develop our song exactly the way we want it to sound like. Currently, we are working on finishing a couple of lines needed to complete our main chorus.
Unfortunately we lost a group member Steven who decided he didnt have enough contribution to our songs development. He felt that there wasnt enough that he could help with the early stages of producing the song. That leaves our project up to Timi and I to complete on our own. So far it looks like we can still create our song without Steven, but we are going to have to use a computer program in order to incorporate drums when we need it. Its better that our group split sooner than later because now we have more time to make the necessary changes. As I said above, we're doing really well on our song right now. If we can keep the pace were at right now we might be able to record our song or even make another song to present. Im hoping that my other classmates will have great success if they aren't already right now. Good luck Propel!

Today we began to create a big picture outline for our project song. We later learned with the help of our teachers Mr. Hansen and Mr. Patrician that we were not ready to create and record our song in the length of time we have for the semester with the current knowledge we have. This is a bit of a shame that we have been getting too ahead of ourselves in an attempt to write a song and record it without knowing the complications behind it all. We are not giving up making our song, but in result we're needing to dive into some development and reasearch for an alternative solution to our project. Since recording is a large project in itself we may result in playing our song to a live audience instead. Below is our most current Big picture out up to date. With our projects complexity in mind, I am not entirely sure how long his project is going to take us considering the research and development of making, and recording our song. We are a group of 3 with little knowledge for making a song. I know a bit of guitar, Steve is fairly good at the drums, and Timi can only contribute by singing. I am hoping with enough research and time we will have great success in developing our song for the public to hear. All plans up to date can or most likely will change depending on how well we do in the following weeks ahead.
Cheers, Jordan Moulden We started this week off with another group activity in order to trigger ideas for our big project that we are now starting to think about. This project had us do many random activities in order to win points. The highest group points get a suprise. Some of the activities included tuning a guitar, printing out the manuel for our speaker system, Making a funny video and uploading it to youtube, and more. As cool as it sounds, it was actually very difficult to complete every task as a group. Many of us discovered that we had to divide and conquer our tasks and complete what we already knew. This small project forced the majority of us to reasearch how to do each activity.
This made me realize that my project will need some thought and research before i can make a true decision on how I will develop my project. The main idea i want my project to revolve around is music. I believe that making a song will be a fun and interesting challenge. As of now, I think i will be working with steven and Diego for this music project because they have invited my to join thier band. We will probably be using a variety of music including instruments and computer effects for our song. I cant wait to see how this will turn out. Thank you Propel! The classroom building project was first introduced us on the second day of school. I was so hyped to change the classroom appearance because we had full control in what we wanted to change and how we were gonna change it.
Some people may ask what building the classroom has to do with school. I believe the reason this was made to be a project is because it teaches us responsibility, teamwork, and takes us into a real life situation beyond the school classroom. It also gave us an opportunity to work on projects while feeling more accomplished. Progress does matter in the classroom where it is visible to everyone. After going through the experience of developing the classroom, we found strategies that worked well and also some that did not work. With this in thought, have some advice I would like to offer the next semester students heading ino propel. One thing i would like to point out is to give and recieve. What i mean by this is to give an idea and listen to others opinions from your idea and also listen to their projet idea. Communication is key to a successful classroom build. Without it, you might make a bad decision that the class may not like. It is also a good idea to plan ahead. This allows you to make any necessary changes or edits you need to make in case of something going wrong. Third thing is to be prepare for change. This first project is to get you warmed up for the final project you will work on at the end of the year. Lastly start thinking about the project you might wanna consider doing. You will save a ton of time working later if you have somewhat of an idea on what your going to produce. Thank you Propel and good luck to semester 2 students We finally found and purchased our speaker system. A major improvement from the original stock speakers in the classroom. I found this search to be a great success because they work great for classroom lessons and music! We might have had more success if we had known exactly what capabilities we needed and what we didn't to get the most bang for our buck.
We're looking forward to listening to our favorite tunes while we work on our upcoming projects that some of us are already prepared to develop. I also can't wait to experiment with my music production program to see how it sounds on the new sound system and for a small project. ieWhat do you want to know about ProPEL? I will answer any questions you have here.
1. What is propel about? Propel is a school program willing to change old school principles and rules for the 21st century learning standards. 2. Are you getting credits? Yes, 4 credits that include english, phys ed, ICT ( computer tech), and a 4th credit in whatever previous passion or knowledge you wish to use in the program for the final project. 3. How do we get involved? Propel is still in early preparation and students have been specifically selected because of their strong passion in their electives. In the near future, Propel is hoping to turn into a much larger community for learning. |
